Wayne Gretzky scores $6M for dramatic Los Angeles estate

Modeled after the family’s favorite boutique hotels

Wayne Gretzky, the greatest hockey player ever, finally found a buyer for his plush mansion in Westlake Village, a wealthy suburban neighborhood on the very north end of Los Angeles County.

The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, which mixes exposed wood beams with black walls and an abundance of glossy white molding, is located in a gated community at Sherwood Country Club. The property also holds a guesthouse, gym, and sauna.

Marketing materials say it was “designed to embody the lavish features” of the family’s “favorite boutique hotels from their travels around the world.”

Without luck, Gretzky, who played for the Kings in the 1980s and 90s, first tried to sell the estate in 2014 for as much $ 10.5 million. He chopped the price a few times before finally selling last week for $ 6 million.
