Neighborhood Spotlight Part III: Great Neighborhoods for Families In Los Angeles

Today, we’re visiting Cheviot Hills and Rancho Park, beautiful residential communities nestled amongst Beverlywood on the east, Century City on the north, Palms on the south and West Los Angeles on the west.  By way of this article, which is the third in a series of “Neighborhood Spotlight” installments (see Neighborhood Spotlight I and Neighborhood Spotlight II for prior articles), we hope to share some insight into the various neighborhoods in Los Angeles and recommend what we believe are the best for you and your family.

Cheviot Hills

Cheviot Hills is a 1.54-square-mile neighborhood of single-family homes located on the Westside of Los Angeles, and is adjacent to Century City, Rancho Park and 20th Century Fox Studios. [1]  Many of the homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1940s and early 1950s and are primarily traditional in style.[2]  Cheviot Hills is known for its friendly, tight-knit group of residents, a low crime rate[3], excellent schools[4], a relatively low density population, and a high median yearly household income.[5]  The neighborhood has two private clubs including the Hillcrest Country Club and the Beverly Hills Country Club.  Cheviot Hills also boasts a wide range of parks and recreation including Cheviot Hills Park, the Cheviot Hills Recreation Center, the Cheviot Hills Tennis Courts and the Rancho Park Golf Course,[6] making it the perfect neighborhood for you and your family.

Rancho Park

Rancho Park is a quaint 0.6-square-mile community situated directly west of Cheviot Hills.  Similar to its neighbor, Rancho Park has a low crime rate and excellent schools[7], making it a great choice in neighborhoods for your family home.  This community has many restaurants and attractions for families including the Rancho Park Golf Course[8], The Apple Pan restaurant, an LA institution since 1947 boasting one of the best banana cream pies out there, and Children’s Book Word[9], one of the best bookstores in L.A. for kids.
