Neighborhood Spotlight, Part II: Great Neighborhoods for Families In Los Angeles

Whether you’re new to Los Angeles or a long-time resident, it’s so important for any homebuyer to love one’s neighborhood and to choose an area that fits one’s lifestyle.  By way of this article, which is the second in a series of “Neighborhood Spotlight” installments, we hope to share some insight into the various neighborhoods in Los Angeles and recommend what we believe are the best for you and your family.  Today, we will visit the Westside, which is home to exclusive communities and major attractions like the Getty Center and, of course, the beach.

  1. Brentwood

Brentwood is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of Los Angeles.  This family-friendly community boasts top-ranked schools and a low crime rate.  Brentwood’s residents are also among some of the wealthiest in Los Angeles, with a median household income of $112,927. [1]  This beautiful, well-maintained area is close to the beach, boasts world famous restaurants, and has a wonderful Sunday Farmer’s Market for you and your family to enjoy.

  1. Santa Monica

Santa Monica is known for its beauty, safety, affluence and proximity to the beach.  If you love walking, then Santa Monica is the perfect neighborhood for you.  You and your family will love taking a stroll down 3rd Street Promenade, visiting the famous Santa Monica Pier, or shopping on the luxurious Montana Avenue.  Santa Monica boasts a high walkability score[2], excellent school districts and a low crime rate.[3]

  1. Culver City

Culver City is conveniently located between job centers in downtown LA and the beach.  This neighborhood has been home to major film studios for many years, and is filled with some of the hottest new restaurants that LA has to offer.  In addition to its central location and hip nightlife, this neighborhood also boasts highly ranked public schools and a low crime rate[4], making it a perfect location for you and your family.  Plus, if you and your family enjoy outdoor markets, then you’ll be sure to love Culver City’s Farmer’s Market every Tuesday!
