Come 2019, you’ll be able to hop on the train here
The Crenshaw Line is chugging toward its anticipated 2019 opening date, and progress is happening before our eyes all along the route through Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Inglewood, and Westchester to meet the Green Line. (Its planned stop at 96th Street to link to the future LAX people mover train will come later.)
Progress on the future Inglewood station is particularly notable, and new photos from The Source capture just how much has been done.
The downtown Inglewood station is located west of La Brea, at the north side of Florence Avenue near Market Street. A new bridge will allow the tracks to cross over La Brea. (A flyover tour from December does a great job of connecting the dots and illustrating where the new stations will sit.)
Courtesy MetroThe new Inglewood station will be roughly two miles away from the neighborhood’s new $ 2.6-billion Rams and Chargers stadium, an arena for the Clippers, and the massive neighborhood bringing 3,000 units and more to the old Hollywood Park racetrack property.
Residents have said they’re both excited and anxious about what kind of changes, for better or for worse, the line will bring.
