Open thread: Why did you move to LA?

Tell us why in the comments

Numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau released last week on population estimates show that, on the whole, Americans are moving to warm climates such as Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Houston. Toasty Los Angeles didn’t make the list of the nation’s top 10 fastest growing counties from 2015 to 2016, but of all the counties in California, Los Angeles gained the third highest number of new residents. That’s behind Riverside and San Diego counties—not too shabby.

A county of transplants, LA always has a steady flow of people coming and going. If you’re a recently arrived Angeleno, we’re curious to know what pulled you to the city. Where did you move from? Do you ever see yourself moving back there, or are you planning on stayin’ in LA for good?
